Investigators say RSF chief's network set up UAE gold firms to cash conflict gold for war

The Sentry's October 2, 2025 report 'The RSF's Business Network in the UAE' identified more than a dozen UAE-registered companies, including four precious-metal trading firms, set up by Mazin Fadlalla, Abozer Habib, and Emirati and Sudanese associates Naser Al Hammadi, Essa Al Marri and Ahmed Hashim, linked to Rapid Support Forces commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo ('Hemedti') and his family. The report notes the RSF has long been accused of smuggling Darfur gold to the UAE and says the group needs corporate vehicles and banks to convert gold into hard currency. Capital Tap Holding, set up by Habib and Al Hammadi, was already sanctioned by the US Treasury for providing money and military equipment to the RSF. The Sentry urged the US, EU and UK to investigate the individuals and companies. These are The Sentry's findings, not court findings; the RSF did not respond.
