What happened
The Cour des Comptes of Côte d'Ivoire, in its 2025 annual public report (section 3.2), audited La Mé region's education investment spending for 2019-2022. It found the Région de La Mé had not clearly defined expected outcomes or adopted its triennial program on time, that works were not completed within contractual deadlines and works inspections and acquisitions were not carried out appropriately, and that it had no specific unit, performance indicators or reporting system for monitoring and evaluating the program. The Court recommended a formally designated monitoring unit and an annual public monitoring report. It also found that spending complied with procurement rules and budget forecasts.
