What happened
Kenya's Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission said it recovered Sh51.3 million and $113,000 (about Sh65.3 million in total) from the Syokimau home and car of Nairobi City County Urban Planning Chief Officer Patrick Analo, plus title deeds, logbooks, devices and approval plans; he was arrested June 4, 2026 on suspicion of holding assets out of proportion to his known income. Separately, County Finance executive Charles Kerich was sentenced by the High Court to three months for contempt over an unpaid Sh106 million debt to a law firm and went into hiding. Governor Johnson Sakaja suspended both, named acting replacements, suspended development approvals until the planning technical committee is reconstituted, and proposed an EACC liaison officer for the county. Analo is a suspect and has not been convicted.
