The ICIR reported that Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, under then-chairman Monsuru Bello, reportedly spent over N3 billion on road and drainage contracts, several incomplete or abandoned. It cites about N505 million approved for Falana Street phase 1 drainage, where only 514.65m of a planned 944m was built; about N213 million approved in July 2024 for the Falana Street phase 2 road, left abandoned; a N922 million Jubril Olabisi Road contract that the ICIR's own bill of quantities put at about N647 million; and a N981 million Sheikh Niyass Road contract that it put at about N190 million. A petition from the group Concerned Citizens of Ejigbo to the ICPC in October 2025 alleges N479 million was released for Majiyagbe Street drainage that was only partly built. Asked about the contracts, Bello said the matter is under active investigation by the ICPC. The ICIR reports the council and Lagos state officials did not respond. No finding of wrongdoing has been made.
