What happened
Timor-Leste's Anti-Corruption Commission (CAC) presented its 2025 annual report to the national parliament in April 2026. The report says the commission compiled a list of 500 public projects and inspected 86 across various categories; of those 86, 25 presented problems or vulnerabilities to corruption. The commission highlighted 13 projects from the National Electrification Programme, initiated between 2013 and 2016, that it describes as unfinished or abandoned, and reported receiving 83 public complaints related to corruption in 2025. The CAC accepts reports from the public, in person, by phone or through an online public-complaint form (Denunsia Publika); its website says a report may be made by name or anonymously and that reports are treated confidentially.
