What happened
Jakarta's High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati DKI) named DKI Jakarta Culture Agency head Iwan Henry Wardhana, acting division head M. Fairza Maulana and event organizer Gatot Arif Rahmadi as suspects on January 2, 2025 in a scheme prosecutors said used fictitious vendors and falsified accountability reports (SPJ), including staged photos of a Rp15 billion dance performance, to draw about Rp150 billion from the agency's 2023 budget. Wardhana was removed from his post in December 2024 and detained on January 6, 2025. On October 30, 2025 the Jakarta Corruption Court sentenced him to 11 years in prison and ordered Rp13.535 billion in restitution for corruption linked to fictitious arts activities between January 2022 and December 2024. On December 18, 2025 the Jakarta High Court increased the sentence to 12 years and restitution to Rp20 billion.
