What happened
Slovenia's Specialized State Prosecutor's Office filed a request at the Ljubljana District Court (about September 2025) for a judicial investigation naming Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković as first suspect among 21 people, on suspicion of accepting benefits for illegal intercession, bribery and inciting abuse of office, according to 24ur and RTV SLO. Prosecutors allege, including in the Bellevue Living project in Šiška, that he and others helped an investor obtain building and administrative permits in exchange for payments or donations; RTV SLO's Tarča program reported prosecutors' documents describing alleged benefits including cash, holiday stays and donations. Janković denies wrongdoing and cites the presumption of innocence; an investigating judge must decide whether to open the investigation. These are allegations, not findings.
