01 · What happened
Moataz al-Atrash of Hebron was arrested October 5, 2025 and held in administrative detention, which allows detention without charge or trial on evidence that may be withheld from the detainee and lawyer; his order had been renewed. Middle East Eye and Middle East Monitor report that on September 17, 2026 an Israeli officer or police at Kiryat Arba told his father he had died in prison, without giving the cause, and asked consent for an autopsy. His family says he had no known health conditions and appeared well days earlier. No investigation findings had been published as of the reports.
