The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) is the Chinese Communist Party's internal discipline body, tracing to the Central Control Commission established on 9 May 1927 and in its modern form to December 1978; its mandate covers enforcing party regulations and coordinating anti-corruption work, and it is headquartered in Beijing. Li Xi has been its secretary since 23 October 2022. Working with the National Supervisory Commission, it announced investigations of Chongqing Mayor Hu Henghua (20 March 2026) and Jiangxi Governor Ye Jianchun (27 August 2026), and on 5 June 2026 announced the expulsion of former Chengdu Mayor Wang Fengchao from the party and public office. State media reported that in 2025 discipline inspection and supervision bodies opened about 1.012 million cases, punished 983,000 people, and opened investigations into 181 centrally managed cadres. On 11 September 2026 the CCDI and Ministry of Finance offices jointly published six hidden-debt accountability cases, including one in which Yinchuan was found to have falsely claimed 1.8 billion yuan of hidden debt as resolved.
