Measures and recalls

Nevada Question 6, a constitutional initiative on a right to abortion, is on the Nov 3 ballot for its second required vote

Question 6 is constitutional initiative petition C-05-2023, placed on the ballot by voter petition. Voters approved it in 2024, and the Nevada Constitution requires approval at two successive general elections, so it returns for a second vote; if approved again, it would add a new section to Article 1 of the Nevada Constitution, effective when the vote is canvassed on Nov 24, 2026. Per the Secretary of State's guide, a Yes vote would establish a constitutional right to abortion, and a No vote would keep the Constitution as is without affecting abortion's statutory status under Nevada law.

A yes vote: A "Yes" vote would create a new section of the Nevada Constitution to establish a person's constitutional right to abortion, so that a person can make decisions about matters relating to abortion and reproductive healthcare, without interference from state or local governments.

A no vote: A "No" vote would keep the Nevada Constitution in its current form and would not impact the availability of abortion as a statutory right under Nevada law.

Nevada Question 7, a constitutional initiative on voter identification, is on the Nov 3 ballot for its second required vote

Question 7 is constitutional initiative petition C-02-2023, placed on the ballot by voter petition. Voters approved it in 2024 and it returns for the second vote the Nevada Constitution requires; if approved again it would amend Article 2 to require photo ID for in-person voting and certain identifying information (such as the last four digits of a Nevada driver license or Social Security number) for mail voting. Per the Secretary of State's guide, the Legislature could pass implementing laws in 2027, with changes taking effect for the 2028 election cycle.

A yes vote: A "Yes" vote would amend Article 2 of the Nevada Constitution to require in-person Nevada voters to present certain identification and mail ballot voters to provide certain information in order to cast a legal ballot.

A no vote: A "No" vote would keep the Nevada Constitution in its current form.
