Georgia ballot

Georgia voters will decide Amendment 1, a proposed amendment to the Georgia Constitution placed on the ballot by the General Assembly as House Resolution No. 32 (Ga. L. 2025, p. 1081). Its official short caption reads: "Increases the maximum qualifying acreage for assessment and taxation as bona fide conservation use property." Constitutional amendments are approved by a majority of those voting on them; a yes vote ratifies the amendment and a no vote rejects it.

A yes vote: Per the official summary prepared by the Attorney General, Secretary of State and Legislative Counsel: this proposal increases the maximum acreage to qualify for assessment and taxation as a bona fide conservation use property from 2,000 acres to 4,000 acres. It amends Article VII, Section I, Paragraph III of the Georgia Constitution by revising subparagraph (e)(1).

A no vote: The Constitution is not amended; the maximum acreage of a single owner's bona fide agricultural and timber land that can qualify for assessment and taxation as bona fide conservation use property remains 2,000 acres.

Georgia voters will decide Amendment 2, a proposed amendment to the Georgia Constitution placed on the ballot by the General Assembly as House Resolution No. 251 (Ga. L. 2026, p. 1110). Its official short caption reads: "Provides for the nonpartisan election of all probate court judges." Constitutional amendments are approved by a majority of those voting on them; a yes vote ratifies the amendment and a no vote rejects it.

A yes vote: Per the official summary prepared by the Attorney General, Secretary of State and Legislative Counsel: this proposal provides that all probate judges shall be elected in nonpartisan elections. It amends Article VI, Section VII, Paragraph I of the Georgia Constitution, relating to selection and term of office of judges, by revising subparagraph (a).

A no vote: The Constitution is not amended; it does not require probate judges to be elected on a nonpartisan basis, so the manner of electing probate judges is left as currently provided.

Georgia voters will decide Amendment 3, a proposed amendment to the Georgia Constitution placed on the ballot by the General Assembly as House Resolution No. 1243 (Ga. L. 2026, p. 1109). Its official short caption reads: "Authorizes creation of Georgia Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund for 9-1-1 systems expansion, maintenance, and operation." Constitutional amendments are approved by a majority of those voting on them; a yes vote ratifies the amendment and a no vote rejects it.

A yes vote: Per the official summary prepared by the Attorney General, Secretary of State and Legislative Counsel: this proposal authorizes the General Assembly to provide by general law for the creation of the Georgia Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund. It amends Article III, Section IX, Paragraph VI of the Georgia Constitution by adding a new subparagraph (s). Per the amendment text, money in the fund could be used only for the expansion, maintenance, and operation of 9-1-1 systems statewide, including the transition to Next Generation 9-1-1, and would not lapse.

A no vote: The Constitution is not amended; the General Assembly would not be authorized by this provision to create a dedicated, nonlapsing Georgia Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund.
