Look up your registration, polling place and sample ballot at the Ohio Secretary of State's voter lookup (voterlookup.ohiosos.gov) or your county board of elections. The voter registration deadline was Monday, Oct 5, 2026 (online at VoteOhio.gov, by mail postmarked by that date, or in person); Ohio has no same-day registration, so voters who missed it may vote only a provisional ballot. Early in-person (absentee) voting at your county board of elections or designated early voting center runs Oct 6 - Nov 1, 2026: Oct 6-9, 12-16 and 19-23, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat Oct 24, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Oct 26, 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; Oct 27, 7:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; Oct 28-30, 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; Sat Oct 31, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sun Nov 1, 1-5 p.m. Absentee voting by mail begins Oct 6; your absentee ballot application must be RECEIVED by your county board of elections by 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 27, 2026, and must include ID (Ohio driver license number, last four digits of your SSN, or a copy of an acceptable ID). Under current Ohio law, non-military/overseas absentee ballots must be RECEIVED by your county board of elections (by mail, in person, or in the board's drop box) by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov 3; a postmark alone is not enough. Military/overseas (UOCAVA) ballots returned by mail must arrive by Nov 7. Polls are open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Nov 3. Photo ID is required: an unexpired Ohio driver license, state ID or BMV interim ID; U.S. passport or passport card; or U.S. military, military dependent, Ohio National Guard or VA ID card. Voters without one cast a provisional ballot and must show acceptable ID at the board of elections within four days after Election Day (a religious-objection affidavit is available).

Measures and recalls
Issue 3 is a proposed amendment to the Ohio Constitution placed on the ballot by the Ohio General Assembly (Substitute Senate Joint Resolution 10, passed by a three-fifths vote of each chamber); it would enact Section 5 of Article V. Per the Ohio Ballot Board's certified explanation, it would require voters to present a government-issued photo identification to vote in person, with an alternative verification method allowed by law for voters with a sincere religious objection to being photographed. Voters using another method, such as absentee voting by mail, would have to provide one of the listed photo IDs or, if authorized by law, a signature and at least one other unique identifier. A majority yes vote adopts it, effective immediately.
