EPA hands lead-paint programs to states, then never checks they still protect children

How to do it
Use EPA's 'Contact Us About Lead' form to send feedback to the lead program. Cite Inspector General Report 25-E-0042. EPA has never done the periodic adequacy evaluations federal rules require for the 39 states, D.C., Puerto Rico and four tribes that run their own lead-based paint programs, and has no procedure for withdrawing a failing program. Ask EPA to name the office responsible, start adequacy reviews now rather than waiting for its March 15, 2027 corrective-action date, and publish the results state by state.
