Kamala Harris

Biden's vice president through the Gaza genocide; refused any arms embargo on Israel

Biden's vice president through the Gaza genocide · Person · United States

Kamala Devi Harris, branded "Killer Kamala" by protesters and, alongside Joe Biden, one of the "Butchers of Gaza", was vice president through the first fifteen months of the genocide in Gaza and the Democratic nominee who campaigned on keeping the bombs flowing. She served in the administration that bypassed Congress to arm Israel, sent at least $17.9 billion in military aid in a single year and vetoed four UN Security Council ceasefire demands. Protesters at a June 2024 Jimmy Kimmel taping called her a "war criminal". At an August 2024 Detroit rally, when they chanted "Kamala, Kamala, you can't hide, we won't vote for genocide", she shot back: "If you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I'm speaking." When the Uncommitted movement, saying "people we love are being killed with American bombs", pressed her for an arms embargo, her national security adviser answered that she "has not supported an arms embargo on Israel." From the convention stage she vowed: "I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself," and asked days later whether she would change arms policy, she said simply "No." Her campaign took more than $6 million raised through the Israel lobby group J Street, and Track AIPAC credits her with $9.04M in Israel-lobby money. She is now listed among the 2028 presidential hopefuls.
