Court rules Spain's Interior Ministry liable for letting the Civil Guard rate a domestic-violence victim's risk as 'not appreciated' before her husband killed her
A woman requested a protection order at a Guardia Civil post in Sanlucar la Mayor (Seville) on September 17, 2016 after reporting abuse by her husband; the Guardia Civil rated her risk 'no apreciado' (not appreciated) and a judge denied the order, citing contradictory statements and the accused's lack of prior record. On October 16, 2016 her husband killed her.
