No member of Nigeria's security forces had been prosecuted a year after at least 24 protesters were killed in the August 2024 #EndBadGovernance protests, Amnesty International says

Amnesty International documented that police killed at least 24 people in Borno, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Niger states between 1 and 10 August 2024. In its November 2024 report it said no independent investigation had been conducted and that police denied involvement, attributing deaths to 'unknown gunmen' or calling the claims 'fake news'.
