Amsterdam youth-care provider sent EUR 323,000 in public funds to an amateur football club; the city learned of the 2023 ruling in 2025 and cut ties

A 2023 Dutch court ruling, as reported by NOS and NL Times, found that Boomerang Zorg, one of two companies in Stichting Verenigd Jeugdhulp, transferred EUR 323,000 in youth-care funds to the Amsterdam amateur football club AGB, with no evidence of the daytime sports activities the company cited as justification. Boomerang Zorg says the money paid for day activities offered by the club.
