J Street

US liberal pro-Israel advocacy group and political action committee.

PAC · United States · Organization

J Street is a 501(c)(4) lobby that calls itself 'pro-Israel, pro-peace', and JStreetPAC (FEC ID C00441949) is its candidate-funding arm. FEC filings show JStreetPAC raised $14.6M in the 2024 cycle and passed $14.4M to candidates and other committees. From January 2025 to August 2026 it raised $7.3M and gave $7.1M. It makes no independent expenditures. J Street long supported continued US military aid to Israel, and critics reported it pushed Democrats to resist early ceasefire calls in October 2023. It later broke with the mainstream lobby: in November 2024 it backed Bernie Sanders' resolutions to block certain arms sales, which only 17 senators voted to advance. In August 2025 its founder Jeremy Ben-Ami said he had been persuaded that international courts will one day find Israel broke the Genocide Convention. Its money still mostly backs Democrats who vote for military aid, so the conscience arrived before the cheque book changed.
