Northrop Grumman

Arms maker; builds the F-35 centre fuselage flown over Gaza

Company · United States · Organization

Northrop Grumman is a U.S. weapons manufacturer that builds the center fuselage of the F-35, including the jets delivered to Israel's air force. UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese says these jets were integral to dropping an estimated 85,000 tons of bombs on Gaza, and they struck Iran in 2025 and 2026. According to AFSC research, Northrop also makes the fire-control radar and electronic-warfare systems on Israel's F-16s. With Lockheed Martin it makes the Longbow radar that guides Hellfire missiles fired from Apache helicopters, and it supplied Sa'ar 5 warships to Israel's navy. The proceeds: about $143B in sales and $12.4B in net earnings from 2023 to June 2026, with a record $104.7B backlog at June 30, 2026. Its largest shareholders are the same asset managers that own the rest of the industry: State Street (9.27%) and BlackRock (8.29%) as of June 30, 2026, and Vanguard (7.22%) and Capital Group (5.2%) as of March 31, 2026.
