Buyer of David's Sling despite the Gaza genocide
Country · Finland · Country
Finland's main link to Israel's war economy is as a customer. It chose Rafael's David's Sling in April 2023 for about €316M with a further €213M option, and signed the contract with Israel's Ministry of Defense in November 2023, a month into the bombardment of Gaza, at NIS 1.3B. On August 12, 2025 Military Minister Antti Häkkänen rejected calls to cancel, saying 'there are no talks about cancelling the deal, it is proceeding as planned', and citing delays and contract penalties. Finland also licenses some exports to Israel: €17M in 2024, according to EU data. David's Sling is co-developed with RTX's Raytheon, so Finnish money supports both Israeli and US weapons manufacturers.
