Ammunition exporter to Israel and Elbit's biggest European customer

Serbia, outside the EU, has become one of Israel's most important arms partners in Europe. According to BIRN and Haaretz, Serbian ammunition exports to Israel reached €47.9M in 2024, and €55.5M in the first half of 2025 alone, more than all of 2024. In August 2025 Calcalist revealed Serbia as the undisclosed buyer of a $1.63B Elbit package of Hermes 900 drones, long-range precision missiles, electronic warfare and command systems. Serbian artillery shells and Israeli drones thus move in both directions, during a war that the UN Commission of Inquiry concluded in September 2025 amounted to genocide, and in which it called on all states to stop arms transfers to Israel.
