RTX–Rafael joint venture; builds Iron Dome interceptors in Arkansas

Company · United States · Organization

R2S is the joint venture of RTX's Raytheon and Israel's state-owned Rafael, and it is how Israel's missile shield came to be manufactured in Arkansas. In November 2025 it won a $1.25B contract from the Israel Missile Defense Organization to supply Israel with Tamir interceptors, to be built in Camden, Arkansas. RTX says the partners had used a $33M capital investment to set up the plant, which was established to support the Israel Missile Defense Organization inside Israel's Ministry of Defense. The arrangement lets Israel keep firing on Gaza, Lebanon and Iran while US industry refills the interceptors it burns through. This node duplicates COM-R2S, which carries the fuller record.
