FMS notified Feb 7, 2025
Contract or deal
On 7 February 2025 the State Department notified Congress of the sale of up to 3,000 AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-ground missiles to Israel, estimated at $660M, with Lockheed Martin in Troy, Alabama, as principal contractor. DSCA estimated that deliveries would begin in 2028, so the 3,000 is an approved maximum for future restocking, not a count of missiles delivered; no public source gives delivered numbers. The sale went through with no congressional block. The missiles restock the weapon Israel's Apache helicopters and drones use for targeted strikes. Bellingcat's 2026 review of US-made munitions in Gaza found Hellfires in strikes on a health clinic, on displacement tents within 150 metres of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, and on Cairo Basic School in July 2025, where five people were reported killed.
