Austria

Small licensor and buyer of Elbit drones

Country · Austria · Country

Austria licenses only small volumes of arms exports to Israel, €1M or less in 2024 according to EU data and €1.7M in 2022, but AOAV counts €33M of Austrian licences in 2014–2022, including more than €5.6M of 'kinetic weapons'. Vienna is a growing customer of Israel's largest private weapons manufacturer: in August 2025 the Austrian army began receiving the first of 315 Magni-X tactical reconnaissance drones from Elbit Systems Deutschland, with an option for 300 more. Elbit markets its systems as combat-proven, a reference to their use by the Israeli military in Gaza, where the UN Commission of Inquiry concluded in September 2025 that Israel committed genocide. Austria has announced no restrictions on purchases from Israeli manufacturers.
