Summer Lee

U.S. Representative, Pennsylvania 12th District (UDP-opposed, won)

U.S. Representative, Pennsylvania 12th District · Person

Summer Lee has represented Pennsylvania's 12th District since January 2023. In the May 2022 Democratic primary the United Democracy Project (UDP), AIPAC's super PAC, spent about $2M attacking her and $660,000 backing Steve Irwin, nearly $2.7M in all, FactCheck.org reported from FEC filings. Lee narrowly won, then beat Republican Mike Doyle 56.2% to 43.8% in November 2022. After 7 October 2023 she backed a ceasefire in Gaza and co-sponsored a resolution demanding one. In 2024 she again won her primary against Bhavini Patel, who unlike the challengers to Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush did not receive AIPAC's backing, and was re-elected 56.4% to 43.6%. Lee is one of the few targets of UDP's first cycle still in Congress.
