Reopened its embassy in Jerusalem in December 2024
Country · Paraguay · Country
Paraguay moved its embassy to occupied Jerusalem in 2018, retreated to Tel Aviv five months later, and came back mid-genocide. On 12 December 2024 President Santiago Peña reopened it in person, telling Israelis "we were with you, we are with you, we will stay with the people of Israel forever,". Israel signed a series of bilateral agreements and a memorandum of understanding with Paraguay during the visit. The move rewards Israel's claim to Jerusalem at the height of the genocide. Charge: real estate in an occupied capital.
