Military intelligence identified as client of NSO-linked Circles surveillance
Country · Nigeria · Country
Nigeria's Defence Intelligence Agency was identified by Citizen Lab in December 2020 as a likely client of Circles, the phone-location surveillance firm affiliated with Israel's NSO Group, which exploits SS7 telecom flaws to track and intercept calls and texts. Nigeria is one of seven African governments Citizen Lab tied to Israeli cyberespionage tools. No post-2023 purchase is documented here, and the profile stands as a pre-existing client relationship.
