Munitions India Limited

Indian state-owned ammunition maker; artillery rounds to Elbit

Company · India · Organization

Munitions India Limited is an Indian government-owned ammunition manufacturer, carved out of the old Ordnance Factory Board. Amnesty International's July 2026 investigation "Made in India" names it among nine Indian companies supplying Israel's arms industry, and The Wire reports that it exported 1,000 155-mm high-explosive artillery rounds to Elbit Systems, Israel's largest weapons maker and a supplier of the army that has levelled Gaza. A second state-owned firm, Advanced Weapons and Equipment India, sent Elbit 120 81-mm mortar launchers in February 2024. The Indian state is the owner, so the money flows into public accounts. Charge: the taxpayer-owned shell, sold to the shell-firer.
