Governor of California (2028 presidential contender)
Governor of California (2028 presidential contender) · Person · United States
Gavin Newsom (Governor of California) appears on Track AIPAC's list of likely 2028 presidential contenders; Track AIPAC is an advocacy project that follows pro-Israel lobby money in U.S. politics. The tracker shows no federal Israel-lobby money for Newsom, because he has not run for federal office, but still rates the record as pro-Israel. AIPAC, its super PAC United Democracy Project and allied PACs use this money to reward politicians who keep U.S. weapons flowing to Israel; the UN Commission of Inquiry concluded in September 2025 that Israel committed genocide in Gaza. The tracker's numbers are an advocacy tally built from campaign-finance data, not official FEC totals.
