EU's top licensor of arms exports to Israel in 2024
Country · France · Country
France granted the highest value of arms export licences to Israel of any EU state in 2024, about €362M according to EU data reported by EUobserver; the French Ministry of the Armed Forces' own report, obtained by Mediapart, shows the authorised amount more than doubled from €176.2M in 2023 to €387.8M in 2024, while Israeli orders hit €27.1M, the highest since 2017, and deliveries reached €16.1M. Investigative outlet Disclose revealed that Marseille-based Eurolinks shipped machine-gun links to Israel Military Industries, including one million M27 links in May 2025, believed compatible with the Negev 5 machine gun used by Israeli forces in Gaza. Paris insists the parts are for re-export, but has published no end-use verification. These licences continued while the UN Commission of Inquiry concluded Israel committed genocide.
