Democratic Majority for Israel

Pro-Israel Democratic group and PAC; enforces loyalty to Israel's war

PAC · United States · Organization

Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI) is a 501(c)(4) group founded in January 2019 by Democratic strategists, including pollster Mark Mellman, to keep the Democratic Party firmly behind Israel. Its political arm, DMFI PAC (FEC ID C00710848), is a hybrid PAC that can give to candidates and also run independent ads. FEC filings show DMFI PAC raised $6.7M in the 2024 cycle and spent $4.2M on independent expenditures. From January 2025 to August 2026 it raised $7.4M and spent $2.8M on independent expenditures. Most of its receipts are filed as 'other receipts' rather than donations from individuals, which made up only about $0.5M in 2024 and $0.2M in 2025–26, so the grassroots are thin. Its record includes over $1.4M against Bernie Sanders in 2020 and campaigns against progressive critics of Israel such as Nina Turner. It works alongside AIPAC to make support for Israel's war a test of loyalty inside the Democratic Party.
