Elbit Systems chair through the genocide in Gaza

Elbit Systems chair through the genocide in Gaza · Person

David Federmann, son of Michael Federmann, has chaired the board of Elbit Systems since August 2023, after serving as vice chair, which puts him at the head of Israel's largest weapons maker throughout the assault on Gaza and the wars on Lebanon and Iran. Elbit's 2026 proxy credits him with the largest individual economic interest in the family chain, about 8.16% of Elbit; on the September 2026 market value used in this map that stake is worth roughly $2.7B. Under his chairmanship Elbit, which makes 85% of the Israeli Air Force's drones, reported 2025 revenue of $7.94B and in May 2026 won an Israel Ministry of Defense contract to develop external fuel tanks for the F-35I, so the jets can fly further. An Elbit Hermes 450 drone was used in the 2024 strike that killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza. The UN Commission of Inquiry concluded in September 2025 that Israel committed genocide in Gaza, and Francesca Albanese's July 2025 report names Elbit among the companies sustaining it.
