Cori Bush

Former U.S. Representative, Missouri 1st District (UDP-opposed, lost 2024 and 2026)

Former U.S. Representative, Missouri 1st District (UDP-opposed, lost 2024 and 2026) · Person · United States

Cori Bush represented Missouri's 1st District and on 16 October 2023 introduced a House resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. The United Democracy Project, AIPAC's super PAC, then targeted her: FactCheck.org's review of FEC filings found it spent more than $5.2M against Bush and $3.3M backing St. Louis County prosecutor Wesley Bell, about $8.5M in all; Wikipedia puts spending against her at $9M, the second most expensive House primary in history. Bush lost the 6 August 2024 primary to Bell. In October 2025 she announced a comeback, but lost the 2026 Democratic primary rematch to Bell by a wider margin, 36.9% to 59.2%. Her two defeats show how AIPAC money punished an early call to stop the killing in Gaza.
