Former ammunition licensor and planned EuroPULS buyer
Country · Bulgaria · Country
Bulgaria's arms trade with Israel has been driven by its munitions industry. AOAV counts €49M of Bulgarian licences to Israel in 2014–2022, including €11M of explosive devices and €8M of small arms, and €7.3M in 2022 alone. EU data show Bulgaria issued €1M or less in licences to Israel in 2024. The research database DIMSE reports that Bulgaria plans to buy 12 MARS 3 (EuroPULS) launchers based on Elbit's PULS system. Delivery flows of Bulgarian ammunition to Israel since October 2023 have not been verified and need further investigation, given the country's role as a major ammunition exporter.
