Israel's top crude oil supplier; Israeli arms customer; gas licence holder
Country · Azerbaijan · Country
Azerbaijan is the tank that keeps Israel's jets and tanks moving. Oil Change International finds that Azerbaijani crude supplied over 7 million tonnes, nearly 40% of all crude and fuel delivered to Israel between November 2023 and October 2025, piped through the BP-operated Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan line and shipped from Turkey. Tankers chartered by state oil company SOCAR, Vitol and Glencore carried it, per Data Desk. The trade runs both ways: per CNN, more than 60% of Azerbaijan's weapons imports came from Israel between 2017 and 2020. In March 2025 Israel rewarded SOCAR with operatorship of offshore gas exploration licences, shared with BP and NewMed. Charge: fuel for a genocide, paid for in drones.
