Rheinmetall CEO; pay up two and a half times in a year
Rheinmetall CEO · Person
Armin Papperger has been CEO of Rheinmetall, the German arms maker, since 1 January 2013. His pay for 2025 rose to about €10.2M, two and a half times the previous year, placing him sixth among DAX chief executives, Börse Express reported in April 2026. Rearmament has been generous to him. US and German intelligence officials reportedly foiled a Russian plan to assassinate him in 2024. Germany supplied about 30% of Israel's arms imports in recent years, making it Israel's second-largest supplier after the United States, during the assault on Gaza that the UN Commission of Inquiry concluded in September 2025 was a genocide. No public investigation has yet tied a specific Rheinmetall product to a strike in Gaza; his place in this network rests on German arms flows to Israel and on war-driven profits.
