Arcline Investment Management

Private equity buyer of Kaman, the bomb-fuze maker

Company · United States · Organization

Arcline Investment Management is a U.S. private equity firm led by CEO Rajeev Amara since 2018 that specializes in buying aerospace and weapons suppliers. When it took Kaman Corporation private in April 2024 it had $8.9B in cumulative capital commitments. The Kaman deal paid $46.00 per share, an enterprise value of about $1.8B, and Kaman's then-CEO Ian Walsh was in line for about $16.3M in change-in-control payments. Kaman had been the sole supplier of the FMU-152 Joint Programmable Fuze to the U.S. Air Force since 2002. The U.S. munitions package for Israel notified on Feb 7, 2025 includes 17,475 FMU-152A/B fuzes, alongside 13,000 JDAM kits and 2,166 GBU-39 bombs, the weapon types found at Gaza strike sites. The fuze unit, Precision Fuzing & Sensors, now presents itself as independent. Whether Arcline still profits from it is not confirmed; private equity rarely volunteers the answer.
