Ian K. Walsh

Former Kaman CEO; golden parachute from the fuze-maker sale

Former Kaman CEO · Person

Ian K. Walsh was chairman, president and CEO of Kaman Corporation, an aerospace and military components maker, until its takeover by Arcline Investment Management closed on 19 April 2024 at $46 a share, an enterprise value of about $1.8B. Kaman's March 2024 merger proxy estimated change-in-control ('golden parachute') payments of $16.27M for its named executive officers, Walsh among them. He called the sale 'a value-maximizing transaction', and for him it was. Kaman's portfolio included the Joint Programmable Fuze for US air-dropped bombs; in 2018 the line won a $324M direct commercial sale order, the largest in the program's history. Fuzes were part of the $6.75B munitions package the US approved for Israel in February 2025, during the assault on Gaza that the UN Commission of Inquiry concluded in September 2025 was a genocide.
