No public ruling on ICC prosecutor's 2024 arrest-warrant request for Myanmar's Min Aung Hlaing as he makes foreign state visits
On 27 November 2024, ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan requested an arrest warrant for Senior General Min Aung Hlaing for crimes against humanity of deportation and persecution of the Rohingya, committed in Myanmar and Bangladesh in 2017; the Court has jurisdiction because part of the conduct occurred in Bangladesh, an ICC state party. As of September 2026, Fortify Rights knows of no public decision by the Pre-Trial Chamber and says it is unknown whether a warrant was issued under seal or the application is still under consideration.
