Nairobi's urban planning chief was arrested after anti-corruption agents found over Sh65 million in cash at his home, and the finance chief went into hiding after a contempt sentence.
Kenya's Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission said it recovered Sh51.3 million and $113,000 (about Sh65.3 million in total) from the Syokimau home and car of Nairobi City County Urban Planning Chief Officer Patrick Analo, plus title deeds, logbooks, devices and approval plans; he was arrested June 4, 2026 on suspicion of holding assets out of proportion to his known income. Separately, County Finance executive Charles Kerich was sentenced by the High Court to three months for contempt over an unpaid Sh106 million debt to a law firm and went into hiding.
