Dominican anti-corruption prosecutor held in preventive detention over an alleged $10,000 bribe from a witness in the Senasa case
Aurelio Valdez Alcántara, a prosecutor with PEPCA (the Dominican Public Ministry's specialized anti-corruption unit), is charged with accepting a $10,000 cash bribe from Roberto Canaán, a witness in the Senasa corruption case. Prosecution director Wilson Camacho said investigators ran a controlled delivery: marked bills were photographed, handed to Canaán, and later found on Valdez.
