A federal judge ruled a Florida sheriff's office violated a US citizen's Fourth Amendment rights by holding him on an erroneous ICE detainer

Peter Sean Brown, born in Philadelphia, was held in April 2018 by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office on an ICE immigration detainer that wrongly identified him as a deportable Jamaican national, despite his statements that he was a US citizen. He sued Sheriff Rick Ramsay in December 2018.
