In its review of the 2024 public account, released July 1, 2025, Mexico's ASF found the Secretaria de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes (SICT) had to clarify roughly 47.3 million pesos in payments on the Tren Interurbano Mexico-Toluca and Tren Suburbano projects, including 13.86 million pesos in excess payments on the Manantial cable-stayed bridge, 6.2 million pesos tied to the Vasco de Quiroga station, and 27.2 million pesos on the Suburbano's Lecheria-Felipe Angeles airport segment -- citing duplicated cost-adjustment charges, machinery and labor billed without proof of use, and payments lacking supporting work logs or photographic evidence.
