Amu TV, citing unnamed sources, reported that a Taliban intelligence unit (Directorate 08) raided the home of Public Health Minister Noor Jalal Jalali on Saturday, April 4, 2026, detaining ministry officials including the heads of curative medicine, human resources, narcotics control and planning, many of them reportedly relatives of the minister, on corruption charges. The sources alleged the minister's son took $64,000 in bribes and acquired armored vehicles from pharmaceutical companies and fled to Turkey months earlier, and that the minister's chief of staff used ministry funds to buy land in three provinces. DIDPress separately reported five senior officials close to the ministry were arrested for administrative corruption. The Taliban have not publicly confirmed the details; ministry spokesman Sharafat Zaman denied that intelligence forces raided the minister's residence while acknowledging a broader investigation of employees. Amu later reported, again citing sources, that four senior officials were released on bail. These allegations are unverified.
