What happened
Zambia's Anti-Corruption Commission arrested three officials of the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services in Itezhi-Tezhi District, accusing them of diverting more than K16.7 million (roughly $650,000) from the Social Cash Transfer Programme, which is meant for vulnerable citizens. Authorities allege the funds were used to acquire real estate and vehicles, which have since been restricted pending forfeiture proceedings. The Ministry publicly said it will not shield officers who abuse resources meant for vulnerable citizens.
