What happened
The Auditor-General's report for the year ended 31 December 2024 found that Zambia's Ministry of Health awarded three new contracts worth a combined K24,000,524 for works that had already been completed, in part, by previous contractors, per News Diggers' reading of the report. The report found no evidence that site inspections were conducted before the new contractors were engaged and cites section 67(1) and (2) of the Public Procurement Regulations of 2022, which concern the documentation required with a works requisition. The Ministry had not been contacted for comment.
