What happened
Poland's Supreme Audit Office (NIK), in its published 2025 budget-execution review, found the Ministry of Justice spent 163,600 zloty of public funds on a January 18, 2025 staff-and-family carnival event featuring karaoke, VR goggle stations, and a ball pit, and ruled the spending was unrelated to the ministry's statutory duties. NIK said such recreational events should be financed from the separate workplace social benefits fund, not directly from the ministry budget, and the ministry said it would follow that recommendation going forward.
