What happened
Public records obtained by The Urbanist, including billing spreadsheets, a parking application, and internal emails, show that Office of Inspector General head Lisa Judge had roughly $385 per month deducted from her office's general operating fund from 2018 through at least July 2024 (about $26,055 total) to pay for her private vehicle's reserved space in the SeaPark garage, rather than using the payroll-deduction process required by city policy. Badge-swipe records show Judge was in the office relatively infrequently during that period. Judge did not respond to requests for comment, and the Seattle City Council, which appoints and oversees the Inspector General, also did not respond.
