What happened
After a Haaretz report quoting soldiers who described near-daily live fire at crowds near Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sites, the Military Advocate General's office directed the General Staff Fact-Finding Assessment Mechanism on 27 June 2025 to examine possible war crimes. The IDF said it did not instruct troops to deliberately shoot civilians, and Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz called the report a 'blood libel'. The Gaza health ministry reported 549 killed near the sites by that date; none of the sources reviewed report a published finding or charge since.
