What happened
The Observer24 reports that Namibia's Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) summoned an unnamed member of the Health Ministry's Bid Evaluation Committee to appear on 18 August 2026 over alleged procurement manipulation, supply-chain fraud and theft of pharmaceutical medicines from state warehouses between 2023 and 2025, involving the Central Medical Stores, the Procurement Management Unit and the Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council. Whistleblowers allege tenders were written to favor pre-selected companies. ACC spokesperson Marina Matundu declined to confirm or deny the summons, calling it premature. The Namibian reported in July 2025 that the ACC was handling a probe involving about N$600 million in health tenders. No findings or charges have been reported.
